How do invisible aligners (Invisalign/clearcorrect) work?
Clearcorrect and Invisalign are both a type orthodontics appliance that move the teeth by applying pressure on the teeth and causing gradual movement using a serious of invisible braces. They both use the same technique and lead into the same results. The process is very simple. We take an impression of your upper and lower teeth and determine how your teeth should be straightened and submit the instruction along with the impression to Clearcorrect or Invisalign. A serious of models, from crowded to straight, are developed by these companies based on the impression and instruction sent to them. Clear plastic trays, called aligners, are produced using those models. The trays are supposed to be snapped on the teeth and used at least 22 hours per day and be taken out only to eat, drink and brush the teeth. You can straighten your teeth using ClearCorrect or Invisalign at any age, however, it usually takes longer for adults to get results than children.
Having a beautiful smile can affect your social and personal life, however that is not the only advantage of straightening your teeth. According to the American Dental Association (ADA), straightening your teeth has multiple benefits and can improve your overall dental health giving you a balance between your teeth the the rest of your mouth. Misaligned teeth can cause tooth decay, gum disease, joint pain, bruxism, headache and abnormal bite. Orthodontic treatment could be accomplished using traditional braces or clear aligners and can be started between ages 8 and 14 and can last a few months or three years.
